By 2012, there has been an entrepreneurship program at Branched Oak Farm. Since it’s inception nearly a dozen agriculture and food entrepreneurs have been hosted at the farm. With pride the stories of The Darlin’ Reds, Hogs with Love at Branched Oak Farm, and all the other less-official entrepreneurship projects that have made the farm a more diverse and interesting place to be have become part of the Branched Oak Farm story.
Before starting cheese production in 2006, the farmers at Branched Oak Farm had a flock of laying hens, raised pastured poultry, and tended a herd of grass-fed beef cows. After adding two dairy cows to the line up in 2003, the other ventures began to fade away and the focus became solely on dairy production and processing.
